it interviews a bunch of engineers and former executives at companies like Google, Facebook and Twitter. Basically no one really knows how these algorithms work and they are controlling our lives and destabilizing the world. They are also made to as addictive as possible.

Why would an executive know deep technical aspects such as content algorithms.

These things are not that complicated for software engineers and I am sure they understand it
exactly :russ: They collect data points and identify patterns. It is not complicated to a developer.

e.g.

1st User is 17 year old female from Utah that likes anime and k-pop, spends an average of 2 minutes on a page, replies to dms within average 3 minutes etc

They collect millions of this data and then identify averages, patterns. Documentary might be :wow: to people that aren't developers but this is normal to increase user engagement.

Btw, the coli is part of it too to a lesser extent.

It's why last year I turned off dap and rep notifications.

Only thing I see now is when ppl quote me
