Like most actors these days, they not being casted for big budget movies.
Hollywood in general is so concerned with blockbusters that they want only big names to star in anything.
If a movie wasn't a blockbuster, it makes more sense to use lesser known actors. Those types of movies are not being made right now. So a movie that is geared towards an "urban" audience would be even further down that pole. But movies do get made, they probably just going straight to DVD and we miss out
All the movies that are really great over the last 5+ years started off as smaller films. We actually look towards things like Sundance Film Festivals. It used to be an every once in a while thing where a breakout movie comes from there. Now its like they all come from there. Times a changing, not for the better...

u can't be comparing the nikka Michael B Jordan to Nick Cannon bruh....he is a real talented actor,as a stan I could see him playin Pac and finally getting that movie off the ground....don't know if he's a movie star...ill be seeing fruitvale station though at the theatre just cuz I'm eager to see it....id lake to take this moment to throw Eddie Murhpy under the bus too.....its crazy dude is one of the most talented geniuses in the history of black folks....great serious and comedic actor but has spent his life making mostly horrible movies and god knows what else....I know he gettin paid but it woulda been nice to see him put his genius mind to work and do what he's good at and make black movies....this is more me thinking "what shoulda been"....more than me bein mad bcuz I know why he did it....lending his talents to a movie like LIFE ain't gon get em that shrek money and did plenty black movies too....but as much as he did am I the only one feel like it was so much more?I don't feel like his presence as felt as u would think it should be and coulda been for one of the greatest talents to ever touch hollywood of any race,top 10

To be fair, Eddie RAN hollywood in the 80's early 90's. And he voice acting for cartoons is still top notch.
The thing about him now, he was real raunchy, then he cleaned it up, and the result has been mixed.
But Eddie still wants to make relevant movies, its Hollywood that isn't letting him make it. I was just watching him talk about it again, but he been trying to do the James Brown Movie for a decade now...
