the Steam fanboys that only play an Epic Store exclusive :troll:
I don't play MP slop don't know what its where but you know what I mean, someone looking to play Control 2 at 4k/2k 60fps, ray tracing in high is not the target for a machine weaker than a PS5

Ok and they have the steam deck to do that. You can even dock it to the tv. It’s a certified flop at the price and this is stationary.
not without a special adapter though. like i dont get the excuses made why this wont work, but something like the switch 2 is doing gangbusters

You don’t get the excuse why the steam console won’t work?
I think it will be as successful as the Steam deck, but me personally I don't see the point of it, seems like a waste of money.

I don’t because atleast with the portable pc only thing in that space is Nintendo switch 2 and you have access to PC on the go. This is stationary you can build a rig that’s more powerful then plus you have PS5 that’s cheaper and you can play all triple a games. Consoles and desktops dominate the stationary space so I see this failing because there’s better options and small form factor console pcs have been done since 2013 and shyt has always been super niche.

I said there's no reason for the average casual to buy a Steam Machine over a PlayStation 5 and people acted like I was dead wrong.

I can't imagine them buying something in 2025 that's comparable to a device that was released in 2020 especially when its mostly non-upgradable and the PC world continues to advance. At least with PlayStation you have a guaranteed standard it will reach that everyone gets. At least on PlayStation they can play Fortnite and Call of Duty with out having to install Windows for anti-cheat.

PC gaming is just not standardized enough for people who aren't tech heads to buy this. They'll still run into issues they don't want to have.

Exactly people were worried that this would be a threat to PlayStation not a chance in hell. Like you said you can’t upgrade this plus casuals are likely to go the portable pc route if they want to try it. That’s the problem with these console hybrids they always got trash with the hardware. I remember I got the Alienware x51 and that came with a gtx 555 and a 3770 4 core processor. It was great for emulation but it was trash for triple a games.

I guess I’m so against pc/console hybrids is because I’ve been there done that. The only thing that was good about it is you could upgrade the gpu if the motherboard could handle the wattage.

I think they said it would be a threat to Xbox but Xbox seems to be going after the high end market. It's like saying if you looking to buy a 5090 then the 5070 might appeal to you which isn't the case.

Xbox console Magnus is going to be dead on arrival too and I hope they reconsider and just focus on making their games better. They need to stay the fukk away from hardware since they are not great at selling it.
