It's interesting. The 8gb of VRAM is going to be an issue for the more modern games. They should have bumped that up to at least 12 to keep it future forward for a bit. But I'm sure pricing was the issue. This has to be in the $500-$600 range.

The steam machine seems cool but I wonder how big the target audience is. Living room users already have consoles and PC folks already have rigs that will probably outclass this. I guess this would be nice for Steam Deck users who want to be able to continue their progress on the big screen.

Yeah that's what I want to understand too. Going by the specs it's slightly weaker that the PS5. But it has FSR 4 in it. So the upscaling should help. But I don't think it's running modern and newer games at 4k/60 unless you do a lot of tweaking in the settings which console gamers aren't going to be a fan of. Then the PC gamers should have a better rig than this too.
