also doubting my third prediction now (sharing). they've already mentioned it a few times, including today, so it wouldn't make for much of a final announcement. maybe Source 2. Steam OS + Source2.... = HL3 :shaq:

kinda curious about the OS for my PC. could conceivably get better performance and be way less bloated. I guess I would have to duel boot to play windows games though
I recall them saying that they had relly good tools for DirectX to OpenGL porting, who knows...

lol, I think the controller might be their only hardware. they've definitely used wording like "living room machines" that seems to suggest they will leave it up to hardware manufacturers or individuals to make the 'box'. although I do think they'll have some kind of steambox to show us this week

Just you wait. They will team up with Samsung to make 1080p upgradeable HTPCTVs running on SteamOS :blessed:

:patrice: actually kinda conceivable. they already got those "smart tv's" that come with netflix support and shyt

sounds like Valve is bringing that stuff to the SteamOS/box

We’re working with many of the media services you know and love.

I think the general idea is to offer several tiers of application. Watch Sony fukk around and drop a SteamOS app for PS4....

being an open and free OS definitely opens the doors for many companies to get into the business. just think if any company could make their own xbox/ps

Nvidia gonna fukk around and just drop the TitanBox :russ:

I think a lot of people would though. if there was a more powerful $600 version of the PS4, I think a lot of people would buy that too

I think the console market sells a lot people short by chasing a more 'family friendly' price point. the compromises they have to make seem more apparent than ever with this "next gen"
