The pilot took itself semi-seriously, and it was terrible. Then, they figured out just how stupid the premise was and decided to make the whole show tongue in cheek comedy. Works much better that way. When you finally get a good look at "that thing", it looks a little like a circus clown version of a vampire

yea im at ep 4 of season 2.. im happy they made his wife into a vamp, hated at bytch...The pilot took itself semi-seriously, and it was terrible.
