AV Club review said the same thing breh. Especially since as of now, that quirk informs nothing about the character at all

But dead ass tho, I agree. One thing I hate is when writers make smart characters stupid because the script says they need to be. She's a freaking therapist and his wife is clearly successful and a smart woman, why make them stupid to the point where they can't comprehend that a man that high up in the chain at a federal agency that deals withe emergencies on a regular basis is going to be on call a lot. You want him to put his wife first? Ok cool so he should just ignore the shyt going on and let the world blow up or rot away...yeah I'm sure his wife would appreciate that seeing as how she wouldn't be alive if that happened. It's one thing to come home to your wife it's another to neglect your job to the point where you don't have a wife to come home to

LOL I understood what she was saying tho and that's my point: If you want to make that argument then do something with the character to make that argument and make it stick. But as of now, you're showing me a guy who's been busy with a demanding job that literally is life or death, a son who clearly loves him and he loves, and a douche of a boyfriend who you let move into that man's house and he's trying to turn his own son against him. If you want to say a character is more about his work than he is family, show that he can barely speak to his kid because he barely knows him, don't show that kid texting him telling him that he hopes he's ok and that he loves him and that he knows whatever the problem is, his dad will solve it.
How is he not getting A's? Show that he cheated on his wife, show that he neglects her for small petty shyt not huge stuff like an outbreak in an elementary school or at an airport. It's bad fukkin writing
