The sudden release dates are better than announcing an album months before

I hate the waiting game, the pushbacks, the flopped singles, the promises etc...:scusthov:

The new wave is announcing an album and then dropping that bytch :blessed:

I think it benefits the artist more because we can learn the date and then cop up asap...rather than wait and wait.

Of course, this works best with bigger artists such as Yeezy and Hov and Em and Wayne etc.....but Drake got me waiting so long to the point I'm like -- fukk it --- I'm just gonna download that shyt :ehh:

i also enjoy sudden releases :ahh:

nah but on topic, it is nice to get this music without the anticipation because you get more of a feeling that these artists are really with the times.

why only halfway?

and with the internet and cell phones, music videos arent as special anymore. i kinda rarely watch videos anymore, not sure if it is because of age or the internet :patrice:

i was a dirty lil hood nikka feening for videos watching urban expressions in philly....now, i see a video and im like :leon: when did this drop

i guess times have changed....probably for the best, but i still feel like adhd with the now, now, now age we live in. i miss awaiting an album and watching the Main Single video for months and then dropping the 2nd single days before the album drops like :shaq: its time.

SINY!!
Music videos are a waste of time unless they are released in succession and tell a story. Otherwise its just an overpriced softporn/product placement/advertisement.

The way to market now......cash in on your hope and drop an album ASAP. Interact with your fans, just go on a tour/appear at music festivals....perform/ and move your product yourself at the venues.

Going the old traditional route with a release is a risk....if your hype dies down, then you end up in an endless cycle of record single>get release date>album pushed back>record another single....eventually you end up like 50 and no one gives a shyt after you dropped 7 singles with no buzz

that was a good feeling, when i was younger....but now...so much more access to music i can literally forget about an artist in weeks or days.

I was just thinking about this and I somewhat agree. Pushing your shyt back in hopes of catching some kinda "buzz" is whack and doesnt work. French should dropped his album at the peak of Pop That. fukkin Juicy J let all his momentum just die down. Now they're waisting money forcing whack ass singles and collabs on it.

If I was an artist Id release like a 5 song sample teaser of shyt that's goin be on the album (with like two singles on there). Once those singles start taking off an it looks they peaking announce the album to be released a couple weeks later. If Juicy J woulda done something similar with Bandz it may have worked out for him.
