Jonathan Givony was on the Lowe Post saying one of the reasons he went to Arizona is because they told him he could play PF instead of just C. He could be even more interested in Detroit now. The Twin Towers look worked for Cleveland this past season; why not the Pistons?
Ayton doesn't have the perimeter skills Moody does for that to work the way it does in Cleveland. But as a fan I'm still intrigued by the idea of signing Ayton, even after drafting Duren.

You mean Mobley? I agree about the defensive part but Ayton is more dynamic offensively. With their cap space and contract situation, I would probably still roll the dice with Ayton.

Yeah. Just mistyped. And I meant on both sides of the ball. Ayton is the better offensive player for sure, but Mobley's handle and threat of an outside shot allow him and Alan to operate on the court together without shyt getting too clogged up.

Ayton shot 55.5% from 10-16 feet and 41.5% from 16-3pt this past season. I don't think it's outlandish to believe he could be a fairly reliable three point shooter in the near future. If he's a threat in pick and pop situations with Duren as a rim runner, that's a nice pairing with Ivey and Cade.

I look at Detroit's overall roster too and they still need a talent influx. Right now, you can only pencil in Cade, Ivey, Bey and Duren for the long term. Stewart's a career backup big; Joseph's a journeyman backup PG. Ayton gives you more punch, plus, most rookie bigs have issues with fouls so I can't imagine they're gonna be able to count on Duren for more than 25 mpg in year one.

Oh yeah, I know the works not done as far as acquiring more talent and I still like the prospect of adding Ayton. Duren ain't getting heavy minutes this year, and as long as he don't get a serious injury Ayton's contract will still be moveable a few years down the road if Duren takes a leap. I like the thought of signing Ayton more than I do the idea of throwing major money at Bridges.

:scust: @ the thought of Bridges back in the Mitten after the videos he's been shooting.
