Why can't Spurs just tank with Murray on the roster? Do what OKC does with Shai, have him play 20 games and then he can get an imaginary injury. Still be in the VW race

Because Spurs don't want to be known for tanking, they rather say they had a bad year because they have no talent over being looked at as a team that tank.
