Where in my comment did I say that his skillset is fluky? What I said was that I need to see a more larger sample size before I'm willing to even entertain the thought that he's a better offensive player than CJ. Dude was largely an offensive bust until his breakout last year and that's not enough to say that he is better than CJ right now.

CJ was putting up good efficiency on his jumpers though. There was a stat maybe a season or 2 ago where he led the league in made jumpers.
We haven't seen evidence yet that Simons can be a real #2. Yet.
I think they are thinking too small, they have a good core without Zion, they could have flipped Zion into a Donovan Mitchell, atleast sunmitted a package for Kyrie/KD, etc and they would atleast gotten a look. You pretty much know that you can live without him at this point

I get it. But Zion hasn't done shyt on a rookie contract, and we know the team can be successful without him. You gotta be a little worried about his production on a 231 million dollar contract

The problem wasn’t that he couldn’t “score” or didn’t have handles but rather his game, didn’t compliment dame’s.
He also turned into a black hole when he got the ball. He would over dribble.
