He was mehhh this year and even worse in the playoffs. Mitchell and Gobert took flack for that Dallas series and rightfully so, but Conley worse to supposedly be their third most important player.
Mitchell took the ball outta his hands family.

Conley is a pure PG he’s of no real use unless he‘s running the show

Obviously you can’t guarantee guys develop well or how they’ll progress. But the Pistons might have the best young core in the league with respect to Cleveland and GS. If Ivey and Duren hit…

Nahhh that wasn’t on Mitchell. Conley looked slower and his offensive efficiency dropped this season especially in the playoffs. They were both getting hunter defensively in the playoffs.

he's been downhill since his second year in utah. if anything, clarkson and ingles playing above all expectations just made the fall off look way less steep than it was.

ingles finally tapping out is what put more responsibility back on conley's plate and he reallllly ain't up to the task anymore.

The Ingles move played right into Utah’s hands as it was rumored that they were looking to cut salary during the season anyways and moving either him or Clarkson in the process. The injury just made the decision easier.
