Damn no Super Bowl performer will ever make everyone happy again. I remember that time Missy popped out and it seemed like the whole world loved it
You could not know missy from a bum in the street but she saved that train wreck of a performance by Katy Perry

They need to go back to 00’s pop and do a medley with Fergie, Gwen Stefani, and Pink

He’s taking the spotlight away from another man.

He is not family friendly, because of his behavior.

He has the hits, he has the talent, but he’s never beating the memories of the beating.

It’s not a good look, especially considering Jay is in charge of these now, and the Epstein stuff.
Chris brown and Kanye West will probably never perform at a SB halftime show. They destroyed their reputations, they burned too many bridges and they only have themselves to blame. But again half of the American voters sent despicable trump to the White House two times already.

Drake is doubtful. Kendrick damaged his image last year.
Justin bieber or a currently popular country crossover singer like Morgan wallen or Luke combs in lol.
Taylor swift.?
Garth brooks?
Mariah carey?
Boys II Men?
Backstreet Boys. The Backstreet Boys never did a halftime show. Maybe them?

To be honest, There’s no legacy stands/artists with hugely popular crossover hits who transcend races and generations and can carry a SB halftime show on their own left anymore. The rock bands/singers are too removed from their prime and too old to perform on live stage, and their fans are mostly old boomers/gen X. And the new rock bands can’t get popular because rock is creatively and commercially dead. You can only do so much with guitars and drums

the R&B/funk/quiet storm/soul black bands/singers are only black famous ( Chitlin circuit) and unknown among non blacks for the most part, their reach/appeal outside black folks is limited.

Stax/Motown legends are too old to do it anymore. And they did it in the 1990s anyway.

Jazz artists won’t do it because jazz has been niche since the 1980s.

New rappers lack staying power and are niche.

The country acts are niche and only followed by the country audience, who is overwhelmingly white and suburban/rural. They have a limited appeal/reach outside rural cacs, no else listens to them. Of course electromic music DJs and foreign acts have no mass reach/appeal in America. And most modern pop stars since 2010 are one hit wonder status at best.

He’s right.

Put him, BlueBucksClan, Zack Fox and Color Me Badd on the halftime show.

Little something for everyone

People won’t collectively agree with any SB performer doing the halftime show because monoculture is dead- internet and social media broke it. YouTube killed the purpose of MTV videoclips, MTV unplugged and live albums/performances on stage. Internet and social media killed TV, Netflix killed movies, podcasts killed commercial radio. Back then In the 1970s/1980s/1990s, You had to buy albums if you wanted to hear the hit singles. But Napster/iTunes conveniently allowed people to buy singles out of albums, and it hurt album sales in the 2000s and Streaming definitely killed album sales in the 2010s/2020s. Artists make their money with live shows and selling merch.

Everyone is in his or her own bubble now thanks to personalized playlists and algorithms. And there are so many video games, entertaining options and distractions right now. Music is not the center of culture , it doesnt drive or move the culture anymore. Music is just another source of entertainment right now, reduced to background noise.

Any popular artist who began his or her career after 2010 will never have the same exposure, visibility, cultural impact, longevity, popularity, influence, mindshare as previous artists from older eras. We’re too busy to know and hear them. And everything is cottage industry/niche now. Artists are only popular among their fans/audiences. Crossover artists/songs are things of the past.

I think it just need some more black folks.

Or actual musicians or something. I would’ve rather rewatched Princes performance on loop.

Idk much about Bad Bunny except he had a banger like 5 years ago with Drake, but that’s about it. The whole performance with a reggaeton beat and no english :francis:
black folks?
are you talking this specific performance?

haven't the last 5 superbowl ht performance been black acts?

Idgaf what they had

And apparently, they do still need it, should’ve been 6

I get the symbolism of the performance but it was mid as actual entertainment. And my opinion has more to do with the music than anything else. I’m not a fan of reggaeton. Go cry to your mother or something nikka, because idgaf about your thought on shyt

I think if they want a white act, Backstreet Boys are looking good, if Nick beats the charges, but he has a history of those charges. Taylor Swift would be an obvious choice, but with her about to be Mrs Kelce, I don’t think she’ll do it unless he retires. I’ll say the same about Ciara. I think an NFL wife could be controversial. I could see Ed Sheeran getting it. I think if they keep it black next year it will be Meghan, or 90s and 2000s female R&B like Brandy, Monica, Mya, Destiny’s Child, Chili and T Boz, Faith.

Ed sheeran I forgot about him. Safe image, good performer, crossover artist( he’s got many old, middle aged and young people among his fanbase) and « clean » hit songs
Garth brooks( country fans watch football too, and he’s the most commercially successful country artist ever…he sold so many albums )
Trio of very popular and successful 2000s/2010s pop rappers -Pitbull/Flo rida/jason derulo they could do a medley of their songs together on the halftime show
I don’t think another Latin/foreign artist will get to perform on the SB stage anyway but K-pop band BTS ?

You right about Ciara/Taylor swift btw. Conflict of interests. They wouldn’t want to think they got the halftime show because they are married to NFL star players. The nfl would want to give the show to someone without ties to the league.

You forgot ashanti /toni Braxton from the 90s/00s r&b singer list.

You think cardi b or meg the stallion might be chosen by roc nation/nfl/jay-z ?

Ironically, the only cheat code is Bruno Mars and he already did the Super Bowl and that was 10 years ago.
