Please dont just vote straight democrat on the ticket. READ READ READ READ READ the candidates platform. I saw some Democrats pamphlets last election that were for increasing certain police powers. I saw some moderate Republicans that were for projects to help minority groups get into programs for job training in trades. I even saw better independent candidates that had a good shot at winning their city/state seat.

The title is misleading, it's a serious issue, but NOT in regards to preventing you from voting. You should read it though...

It basically can affect how districts are created, some district lines favor certain groups, to where you have less black representatives in state governments, or local depending on the districts drawn. That' said, black people in majority Rep disctricts could easily register as republican(for primaries) and vote for the one who will help the most or do the least damage.

During the Obama administration the dems changed the filibuster process for judicial nominees since the GOP was just impeding everything to hate on Obama however that is the process that allowed trump and the GOP to steamroll all these unqualified nominees and federalist judges and trump judges like cannon who are loyal to him .
