New York, and I don't say that just to say it its true and you know this if you're from here. It originally started out as "we lit". As in, yeah we still on for tonight, or things are going according to plan.
Example
Breh 1: Yo you still coming thru tonight with the bytches?
Breh 2: Yeah we lit.
I heard this as early as 2008/2009. I could be wrong though. Maybe it started somewhere else, but I heard it in my old hoods long before it blew up in rap.
