I listened to a snippet of Colin Cowherd's podcast after the OKC/DEN game and he made a point i agree with.

When you allow more physical defense... your legs are the first to go. And guess what happens with dead legs? Your 3point shooting plummets. You're then forced to adapt your game, and thus -for example- we saw OKC executing conventional 2 on 1 and 3 on 1 fast breaks with dunks, instead of guys fanning out to the 3 point line.

I don't know if this is what Silver had in mind when they said they would investigate the 3 point shooting, but that may be a solution to it. That is, if you're going to allow that type of physicality we saw last night and throughout the playoffs so far... then over 7 games it'll be a struggle for ppl to shoot and the teams that want to win will have to adapt.

This take makes sense. Hope we see this trend of rewarding a balanced attack continue.
Denver played 14 games though
They could have used those extra games to play a more ethical brand of basketball then

Minnesota ranked 5th in 3PA this year and OKC ranked 10th, neither are low volume 3P shooting teams

Even for just the playoffs, the Thunder are averaging the same amount of attempts that the Celtics did

Yeah and in just the playoffs the Thunder are ranked 4th in 3PA per game and are only decimal points behind the teams ranked 2nd and 3rd :francis:

Common sense would tell you that using totals when teams play an unequal amount of games isn’t the smartest thing
