Basically Fallout 4 (or any Bethesda game after Morrowind) is a tech head's kryptonite.
If you hold visuals and performance high, you may as well drop Bethesda games till they use a new engine.

I been saying this...skyrim with a tenth of bayonetta or even dmcs depth would be a goat level game. But instead you get...just trash combat. Its easily the worst part of these games by far. If i want to play a huge sandbox ill just play a mmo. At least they have better gameplay and ven bigger worlds
mods barely make the combat decent in skyrim and its more from a numbers/ai thing moreso than imcreased interactivity
I wish the combat in Fallout was a mix between Dark Souls/Bloodborne for melee fights. TPS/FPS gameplay is serviceable in FO4. the FPS shooting in this game is way better than FO3. I hardly use vats because it's easier to pull off headshots without it

The combat has been massively upgraded over fo3
