When you go to the movies, I think it's Universal movies that show the spinning globe when the movie first comes on. Look at Africa on there, it literally takes up the majority of the globe when it spins to that area

here's whats crazy. the continent only holds 1 billion people. but could hold 5 billion.
west europe however, has about the size it can hold (some argue it can hold twice as much)
with that said, in order to have mass amounts of cities, you need density. the africans are too spread out to have LOADS of cities, but every coast has a major city, as this a human pattern.
