Employment for privatized prisons pays substantially less, I know this first hand, as the associates that I work with to get certifications at these complexes don't gripe about compensation(they're public associates).
You're going to give a damn about your health position at an institution if you're being paid 140k(public) with a trained staff, as opposed to 75k(private). There is no need to use sugar as a facilitator when your budget is bigger and there's no push for profits like that. If I'm 28 and clock $130g's, you think I'm going to let somebody die on my watch? Not if I can help it. You're paying me $69 grand and not letting me take all my holidays? Maybe I'll take a second handful of sugar packets with my morning coffee at McDonald's. (not me, I'm just saying)
I spoke on it before, the recent drug laws implemented are not coincidental, they are one of the few charges one can garner and as a result, not receive federal aid for a college education.
So, blacks/minorities are 10x more likely to be arrested and sentenced for a crime that directly ties to a lack of accessibility to education, which(education) has been proven to enhance the quality of ones life and provide upward family mobility? And we're supposed to believe there are t bigger hands pushing the issue?

As I get older its I put more money into things to keep children out of the streets, whether it be music or sports, because its SO EASY to end up in the system. RIDICULOUSLY easy.
And no I'm not a militant, there's white people in jail too, and that's messed up. But if you're in there for something violent related, sorry, regardless of color, you need that timeout.
