i'm already a beginner PC gamer ever since i got a GTX 670. in all honesty though all systems have some exclusives that are worth playing.

i'm looking towards Sony who probably won't be able to directly copy this system now. if they have an open game market i'll likely only buy multiplatform titles there.

the only games i buy on the PC are the games i can get cheap like i got Metro Last Light for $24 on eBay. at that price i don't care if i can trade it in.

PC gaming can be simplified as the prettiest xbox you'll ever see.

It specializes in great looking 3rd party games and PC exclusives nobody wants.

Just like the Xbox (except Xbox consoles are inferior graphically)

Can't play Last of Us/Beyond Two Souls on a PC

Gaming industry is just greedy.

Imagine if movie studios did this with DVDs/Blu-Rays
in all fairness games don't have anywhere near the revenue streams of movies.
theater release
dvd / bluray release
rentals / on demand
premium channel rights
cable tv rights
basic tv rights

games come out and the sales are front loaded and its a wrap other than whatever dlc sales they can muster.

Even with all of that movie studios are in rough times too. Probably losing even more money in comparison to gaming companies.

I think gaming companies just need to find a way to lower development budgets.

All Sony has to do is not fall on there face at E3 and they've won this generation. XBones will be tossed in the bushes.

Regardless of what the policy ends up being. The ability to access my entire games library on the fly instantly, trumps the ability to trade games with little Timmy down the street.

Gaming will be more expensive this gen( as it has been with each prior gen) as long as the experience improves I see no problem with it. In any other industry inovation is met with open arms, even if it costs more money.

Gamers want to hold on to old ideas, yet press for inovation, and complain about the costs. Sometimes it seems the entire industry is just a bunch of grown ass spoiled, whiny, babies.

Gaming actually got cheaper when the PS1 came out. And there are ways to implement the innovations you are talking about without digging in the consumers pockets.

Idk why all you arm chair revolutionist are upset , Sony's about to do the exact same thing. Used games of the past are no longer...console makers/ publishers want to profit. A person who buys nothing but used games is considered a total loss to Sony and Ms who makes nothing on consoles sold.

thats me in a nut-shell...

i buy may one or 2 new games a year...and i own 20+ between 360 and ps3...

im watching this becuz the only system im buying will be the one that allows me easiest (cheapest) access to used games...

im no fan boy. i like both systems and i like games. PERIOD. whichever company allows me to enjoy that the way i want to is where im going next gen....

but for now i dont see myself buying either of these systems for atleast another couple of years...theres a huge used back log i havent played yet and they are still supporting this gen....

so...im good:youngsabo:

movies typically turn a profit during their theater run all the rest of that is even more profit. even movies that flop in theaters have been saved by the move video release. in the gaming world there are a select few games that turn huge profits like Halo, Gears, Call of Duty, GTA, Madden, Assassins Creed ect. the rest of the games are either make a small profit to break even or lose money. also for the most part game sales are front loaded when the game first hits it does the bulk of its sales in that first month or two.
