People just like to complain. All the dudes that are upset about the used game scenario, used to bash the idea of buying/selling used games. Now they are all champions for the used game market![]()
my mom had that microsoft juice in her..lemme get some mahhhhhh..
what i get from this is that publishers and developers finally see some percentage from used game sales. right now, we don't know where sony is headed in terms of their used games scenario. but they just *might* adopt the same strategy. if devs sees a cut from used games on Xbox One, and not on PS4, then the devs go where they can make money.
imo, this is where the next gen is headed. sony will also have a used game stategy. we just have to wait until e3 to find out the plans.
it's a bullshyt practice all around even if Sony does it . What's next I can't lend a bluray to another friend without paying studio rights ? I can't bring a controller over to someone else's house since its tied to my account , so I pay a fee ? It's to the point where you can't lend games to your friends
Sony better not get behind this pratice they'll lose their Asian fan base tooDamn breh..you would even defend microsoft if ballmer raped your mother in front of you. you would be likemy mom had that microsoft juice in her..lemme get some mahhhhhh..

i imagine either the publishers will do direct rentals and cut out the middle man or they'll partner with the rental companies and sell you a digital license with an expiration date.what about them? obviously this is a complicated issue, with many factors. 'rentals' are also caught up in this
All games will be available digitally. That's why they are going through all this. We all know the industry is moving away from physical discs. But Internet speeds and people's feelings about the issue are lagging behind. So Microsoft tried to do both. It's fully digital with an option for retail sales.in a marketplace where all games are available digitally the lack of used games is not as bad.
say something like Xenoblade comes out and goes out of print if all games aren't available digitally you basically can no longer acquire that game because second hand sales no longer exist but if Microsoft actually does go all digital at the very least you can still get the game.
the question is 15 years from now when the servers for Xbox One are probably all gone if you wanna go back and play an old game can you? if the console has to go online every day to check your licenses will you be able to play these old games years down the road?
if you get an old SNES game you can just plug it up and play.in a all digital download world the question is how long do they support this console. if in 15 years i wanna go back and play a niche title on an Xbox One is that even gonna be possible?

big question is why would Gamestop do this..
It's not cheap to implement a POS system just because M$ said so. Also, gamestop would be stupid to adopt this since they are only getting 10% of the cut. What's more is why would people trade in their new games when they'll be worth $10-$20 and M$ and publishers can recharge again to the new customer buying the now used game.
Makes no sense for gamestop to adopt this system.
