Scottland should've went the independent route. I also believe the Northern part of Ireland should become an independent state. If this scenario would've occurred, the United Kingdom would be broken up.

Why would the Northern Irish, who identify as British or Northern Irish or both (not Irish,) want to become an independent state? That's a worse idea than rejoining the southern Republic of Ireland. They don't consider themselves Irish like the southerners, and they wouldn't survive as a tiny independent nation sandwiched between the much larger Republic of Ireland, and the even larger Britain.
