I think we're gonna get an answer of who killed Elena but they're gonna keep it a family secret to protect each other. There have already been some big secrets characters have been hiding (that eventually came to light) throughout (Jonathan getting his sister killed, the grandfathers infidelity, Jonathan's work situation, etc.). One more big secret wouldn't hurt And Jonathan's lawyer wasn't lying when she said she could provide muck
