mad interesting. its immaterial really. its like if youre inside a computer game, you cant see the code but its there, same with the universe

But this guy can see the code. And if you can see the code, there's a chance you could manipulate it. :ehh:

damn i will peep this soon as i get off work. just going by previous shyt i have read/seen. he can see it physically ? crazy, i think in a sense you could manipulate without seeing it, if you pick up the pattern, makes me think how math is really the key to everything

A representation of it.

The world can be defined mathematically, but this is some other level stuff. It would be cool to see the world like that. 8:15 is mind blowing.

I should point out, I think its in a different panel, but Gates at one point says that he actually only thinks there's a 1% chance that the universe is a simulation. He's throwing out an interesting observation, he's not advancing an actual theory he believes in.

Personally I'm very meh about superstring theory. It's a bunch of somewhat arbitrary man-made equations which are manipulated this way and that to fit reality but have no obvious practical correspondence to reality or means of being proven wrong. It's already artificial from the start, so it's not too surprising to me that these manmade equations eventually reflect the artifacts of other manmade equations. Nothing in the equations is actually representing reality, it's just attempting to mimic it.

I definitely think that the Universe can be explained via mathematics and code just like a shytload of other things

One of the issues with the people who think we must be a simulation....

If we really are a simulation, then there must be a real world running that simulation, right? And how would it look the slightest bit different from the supposed "simulation"? Do y'all actually think that the real world is any different than what you're seeing in front of your faces? In what way?

In most science fiction that plays of us being in a simulation reconciles this saying the simulation is just the recreation of the height of human civilization.
