I can remember working at Camelot Music when Master P was slaughtering the game. He wasn't a lyricist (Black Thought), he knew how to rap and the production (Beats By The Pound) was top notch. Ice Cream Man was the anthem you heard out of anything with 10's or 12's in a box beating down the block. Ghetto D had just dropped, we couldn't keep shyt in stock from No Limit Records. Our listening station endcaps always had 1 or 2 No Limit cd's loaded up. Album after album charted. Doubt we will see another run like No Limit had. Death Row had an incredible roster but a lot of internal problems, Bad Boy was up and down once Biggie was unfortunately killed. Suave House fell apart, Rap-A-Lot had heat for talent, a lot of issues tho. etc.
