Army is hurting right now. My Reserve units is currently staffed at under 40%. Even the Air Force have opened up their recruiting.

Military is doing anything they can to get people in right now. It's not looking good. Remember you can get in the Navy now without a diploma.

You still need to score a 50 on the asvab to get in without a diploma.

Branches are really doing themselves a disservice with their attempts at having servicemembers try to be influencers who moonlight as recruiters...leave that shyt to the E4 and below girls who are trying to compensate for not being good at their job and having to live in the barracks still.


Navy down 8,000 people, but recruiters is choreographing dances and shyt.....but none of them have any of the recruiting numbers or awards to validate why they're online so much and not sending people to MEPS.

They did, they've literally never been higher.What they can't really fix is the issues that stem from the 5-7 years of failure to retain people with all of this.

As far as housing..The idea that you put service members into barracks, and then place the burden on them to upkeep them in some self sufficient/low cost system is insane.

Those marines who upped the videos of how they were living, and how brass made them clean in an attempt to hide living conditions from higher ups coming to visit should be the last straw...but it won't be.

We're kind of trapped by dogma. The answer is clearly there for barracks....but it's much easier to shift the burden to junior enlisted for not reporting deficiencies and telling them how you having it bad at those ranks is a right of passage/expected.
