Sony says the PS4 will not block anything at the system level, but that it would be up to the developers if they wanted to block anything once its connected. Basically a developer can essentially lock you out of a game if they so choose.

On Xbox Microsoft basically has the same policy, it will be totally up to the developers to block you from used games. Microsoft would have nothing to do with that if a developer chose to do so.

I have one simple question for all of you. Does anyone really think that a developer would block used game sales on one console and not the other?
Once you guys stop acting like bitter fanatics over these consoles, the next step is for a major multiplat game to arrive. And it will be the first to block used game sales on both consoles. People will buy it anyway because its a Major title. Then other companies/games/etc will follow in its path.

Thats my prediction, anyone think differently? And is it true PS4 will charge for online play?

Microsoft has mandatory DRM

PS4 doesn't

:snoop:

On a system level, you are correct. It was worded that way for a reason. They then made it clear that its up to the developer. What exactly is UP TO THE DEVELOPER if there is nothing to talk about :leon:

On PS4 you can buy and trade your used games as long as the developer allows it. The PS4 will not block a used game from booting up. But a developer can block you from getting online with a used game. You are safe with offline used games on PS4. Thats the only thing that has been assured.

On Xbox, they also say its UP TO THE DEVELOPER. And while that will go for offline and online games on Xbox. The question is does anybody think a developer would restrict something on Xbox One games and not PS4?
I understand you can point with tunnel vision about offline and PS4. But the majority of games we all enjoy are online enabled. So this question applies to the majority of games we all like to play. What do you guys think? If what I said is incorrect, please explain how

Devs have always had power over the online portion of a game :why:

I would have thought that by now through all your aliases you would have dropped the insecurity as well, but nope.

You entering this thread to talk around the topic seems pretty insecure to me. Then the c/s and daps shows how deep rooted this insecurity goes  I merely asked this forum do they believe a publisher will lock out features on one console and not the other.
We are all well aware of the used game, and offline policies of the PS4. Most games are and will continue to be online focused which is why this question is important

I'll let you be the first to take a crack at that since clearly you are not the one insecure here

So you are arguing the DRM policies of the PS3 and X-Box One are 'identical'.
I think the QUESTION is made impossibly clear from my last post. Yet your reply is asking me a different question. Does that make the first question go away? The fact your hesitating to answer the question is an answer in my eyes :suge:
