The Utah Jazz and Philadelphia 76ers have had discussions to send Paul George and the 3rd pick to Utah in exchange for Utah 5th pick

I'm a play devil's advocate here. I think they should just run it back. You already invested in PG13. At least see how the 3 of them work together with a full training camp and season. I know the contract is overpaid. But having George as a 3rd option should work. Now I make this trade only if I know Embiid is done and won't be healthy again or I can get a quality and cheaper replacement starting at the 3 spot.
Embiids knees aren’t making it through a full season and a playoff run. It’s over

Utah planning on drafting Ace at 3 and taking back PG? Is this necessary when Ace's stock has reportedly been sliding some and he may be there at 5 anyway?

no but they can get first dibs on Edgecombe or Tre Johnson instead of waiting on one to be there at 5 (and subsequently not worrying that Charlotte will mess that up)
