What's this all about?

I get preference for more silky players. I get hate from fans his team plays against during the game or series.

But the vitriol, jabs, disrespect handed his way from players (CJ McCollum was aiming jabs at him on Twitter), fans, people on here... I have never seen anything like this.

And it's not like we're speaking about a cocky lazy individual here. This is someone who came in as a nom-top 10 pick and worked his way to become a 2 time MVP, DPOTY and the anchor of a team that has been one of the best in the league.

So what is it? Is it his lack of finesse (still the hate seems outsized)? Is it that he's non-ADOS?

NBA players arent TLR posters. If you can hoop you get your due no matter you’re from. The sense I get from some of the top players, regardless of what they might say in public is they dont really respect his skillset. See LeBron’s comments last year about being pissed off at the MVP voting after the season Giannis had. Probably doesnt make that comment if a Steph or KD won the award.

Giannis game isn’t pretty but when he’s playing well he’s a top 5 player in the NBA. He needs a superstar sidekick. Middleton is a good piece but I’m not sure if it’s enough. They win game 7 it could do wonders for them.

He was not projected to win 2 MVPs and a DPOTY when he arrived in the league. I can't think of a player in recent times that had that leap in ability.

The guy was a project, skinny kid from Greece who nobody knew and turned himself into an MVP. Wasn't highly touted but worked his way up the mountaintop and grinded to get there. The one guy who should be getting the vitriol is No 1 overall pick Ben Simmons.
