I have been unemployed 5 months and my severance money ran out and I don't even know how I'm going to pay my bills next month, cobra health insurance alone is almost 4k. My only source of income is my unemployment checks and I have no job prospects. I have no idea how I will get out of this, I need divine intervention.
what's your field of expertise?

You'll get through this OP. Keep applying for everything you see in your role. Don't be afraid to travel. Take some consideration on what you're willing to do :dame: to keep your lights on while you're looking for a job in your field and stay away from construction sites.

Not being funny but you should totally consider this/Uber Eats/Amazon Flex(?) if you literally have no way to pay your bills next month. You will literally be more than fine if you start now. I’ve seen ppl pick it up as a side hustle for a few months and pay down debt and be in the clear.

Do whatever to stay afloat until you secure your next position. It isn’t ideal but there are plenty of ppl getting by doing that 4-5 days a week if they have to.

You gonna be more depressed if you are out in the cold during peak winter.

Have you also considered becoming a public defender?

Look for work outside of traditional lawyer roles. I know quite a few people with law degrees but they work in corporate or govt compliance or some other capacity.

If that doesn't work you might need to go solo and start offering some type of service to people like immigration advice, traffic court etc.. it's time to think outside the box.
