Rakim could've been there if he didn't disappear for 20 years

Not saying you do this TS but I feel like a lot of people around here include Scarface because they heard others say it....

You can tell a lot of people are really not that familiar with his discography yet he constantly makes his way into top 5 / these 3 legends have to go type threads. For a guy who top of mind for these MC debates we sure as hell get no threads about him in depth. You never see 'The Fix' appreciate thread. Or someone trying to break down if hes actually lyrical or not.

Personally, He's not in my top 5.

Biggie was one of the nicest ever, but he never touched on any real topics outside of street shyt.

Touched on plenty of topics on LAD. Women, Fame, Being Rich, Reaching for your Dreams, California, Story Telling, in fact the only one he didn't touch on was being a family man. But his marriage was on the rocks and he had just had his daughter a few years back. Had he had a chance to grow think he would have been deemed the greatest lyricist ever easily.

it ain't all about the club to me, it doesn't end there for me. i love the party songs but i love the shyt i can sit back and listen to and just really vibe to where an mc really got some thought provokin' shyt to say:wow:

pac, nas and scarface got tons of jewels in they music; great songwritin' by 3 great mcs

nas ain't never been the mc who had a lot of luck with the club hits. that's not his thing really (although you could argue he had somethin' with oochie wally). nor has it been scarface's and pac will always have california love and gangsta party :blessed:

the club, party, streetz is what hip hop was built off of
thats why i agree with chris rock with his critique of eminem not having those type of joints to his resume

pac.. pre DR has almost none / post DR had a couple
nas... has had a few but not nearly enough
face... dont ever remember hearing any joints
(maybe GB mind playing tricks

that don't change the fact that they are the greatest mcs of all time to me :yeshrug:

no mc comes without an flaws or shortcoming and maybe that's their's to some extent (although pac got some clubs songs as i've already said) but i'm cool with that
