Manipulate the English language?? How? By raising reasonable doubt and formulating a defense for his/her client- as part of their actual career and duty to defend their client, discussing legal protections?
:what: :mjtf:
Then you’ll be complaining when a Public Defender says next to nothing in court but ask you “what’s your name, I’ll ask the Judge for a continuance, don’t worry” or “I would advise you to take the deal that the DA is offering”.

It’s always “they talk too much and like to argue or use too many overly explanatory words” until you’re the one that needs legal protection . 😭🫣

I used to be a law student and that stuff messed my head up

It's like learning the English language all over again. "Bread" could just mean bread to you and me,but in a court case "Bread" has to be defined and everyone has to agree with it. "Bread" could even mean "Shoes" and you just gotta rock with it.

It made me a sharper thinker tho. I gotta know EXACTLY wtf shyt means

Glad you got out,you have to be somewhat of a psychopath to become a lawyer. At least the kind who defends shytty people to extremes. The legal system is trash and lawyers should seek to change it rather than go with the status quo.

In my judicial system we wouldnt waste time arguing the innocence of certain people. The only argument you can make for your client is if they deserve 5 years,15,30,45 and so on. Or if they deserve the death penalty.

That way lawyers can maintain some sort of a conscience and credibility:martin:

Laws are written so that the common man can't understand them. When the common man can't understand the law he can neither know why he's breaking the law nor easily defend himself in court.
It's all a hustle for lawyers and ultimately governments to get paid while imprisoning poorer people.

It's why the tax code is ~7,000 (?) pages long.

If the tax code was real software or a codebase no way would it compile/run because the logic would not make any sense.

When you realize you can simply twist everything, then you really don't have to do a legit good job.
