It's jealousy. Going to prom and graduating from high school have always been something to celebrate; Not every prom has to be Carrie White status.
Every gen up the ante a bit, and as far as the money, outfits, gifts, etc, obviously the parents can afford it, so what's the problem? Hell, for all we know, that could be fake money being flashed for celebratory purposes.

Why y'all so pissed off about Black teens and their parents having fun and creating memories for the prom and graduation, y'know investing the time and effort into their children's happiness, kinda weird to be honest.
It tells me a lot of y'all didn't have good memories of high school, let alone experienced prom because of unfortunate circumstances (ugly, poor, unpopular, fat, nerdy, friendless, etc) so now, y'all are jealous of these young teens and their parents because you wished you had that experience growing up during your adolescence and teenage years.
Secondly, y'all are projecting and acting like Black parents are doing soo badly financially that they shouldn't be spending money they supposedly don't have to supplement their children's happiness. Clearly, they can, so why not?

I cant say ive seen anything that dude mentioned but I dont post on social media to say he's wrong. I CAN say however that I havent heard anyone even talking about this stuff.
