Let's apply logic here for christ sake. There are finite number of police officers with finite resources and often insufficient training and skillset in any given city/place at any one time and
they are not in every household, every nuke and corner of everywhere just waiting to anticipate and intercept before a crime is committed
99 percent of the time, police only show up after a crime has been committed usually to secure the scene, take statements and if possible make arrest
and overwhelming majority of the cases they even preoccupy their time with are traffic stops and non violent crimes
How Do the Police Actually Spend Their Time? (Published 2020)
and when they do show up, they have an incredibly shocking clearance rate on cases as most cases go unresolved so not only are you not any less safe from police presence in a community, you are also less likely to have closure or justice as a victim.
Police solve just 2% of all major crimes
Also most of them are only motivated to protect certain people in society
These are backed up by real data and studies
So unless you can find a way to have a police officer per every single individual in every community watching guard 24/7 like the secret service protects the president of the US (which is impossible), there's no way for them to prevent and protect you from danger
