Where do you see yourself in the world of R&B?
The only thing R&B about my shyt is the style of singing. My inspiration is R. Kelly, Michael Jackson, and Prince, for the vocals anyway. My production and songwriting, and the environment around those vocals are not inspired by R&B at all.

I always had a feeling that he was influenced by Mike Jack the God, and Prince, but I never would've guessed the Pied Piper ....

Not even Drake could resist that XO (asking for all types of records) - shyt is infectious/addicting. Weeknd got bit the fukk up off of the release of mixtapes. I can only imagine what's going to happen when that album drops this year.... Game. Match. Point. This nikka already has the game sewn up.

The Weeknd's debut major label release has already been certified gold, since being released on November 13th, 2012. The young Toronto r'n'b singer saw early success with his mixtape series, and soon turned the tapes into a whole project released as Trilogy.

Now, more than a month after the Republic Records debut, Abel Tesfaye has hit the 500,000 sales mark and is now gold.
