Just re-listened to it, this time on the headphones. About 6-7 tracks I don’t like/skip.

It’s something different and refreshing sound wise, will def run back the tracks I liked. But in the end probably won’t revisit it much.

I’m interested in learning the what “old” Weeknd character is all about.

This def sounds like a project made in the meantime while hoping to tour off After Hours. I hope he challenges himself more on the next project but i'll definitely be enjoying this album.

Might be a reach but, I think the gimmick is The After After Hours, hence The Dawn. I guess the old age is just looking back at past (drugs, misogyny, regrets, etc) & living with the end results. I only say that because of Jim’s song at the end. Again, I’m talking about the gimmick more so than the album itself. I could be completely off though lol

I dig both of these but this is way more deep into the synthwave bag. I wouldn't be shocked if this was a chromatics album lol.


AH at least had Heartless and escape from LA to placate the OG fans.

Which reminds me. This was definitely one of the best songs off After Hours.
