1. That’s a drake stan page, so grain of salt about it being bad.:manny:
2. Thought billboard removed bundles?
3. If they didn’t remove them then :manny:
Yeah i thought they stopped counting bundles years ago, but I never understood why it was a problem in the first place.

I someone goes on Amazon to buy an album and wants to spend an extra $15 for a shirt, why is that a problem?

Someone break it down for me, "pure units" are people that bought the album (itunes, amazonmusic, etc.) right? Isn't that ridiculously good? And how would "130k with no bundles" be bad, whatever that means?

Yes, Break it down for us lol

It’s not a problem but a lot of the time the people aren’t paying any attention to the music and just want merch . 130k number means that’s how many streams we know for just the album. The bundles also could be accumulated for months. That split is kind of crazy tbh it’s like Travis Scott and his mixtape . Now we see next week sales how the album drops if it’s very high drop then if shows how many people are fukking with the music. look at Bad bunny streaming and you see his fans are really fukking with the music

Also last album The Weeknd was outsold by Gunna so he really wanted to show he wasn’t finished and that he’s bigger than Drake ( look at his paid promo for the past 8 months )

Kissland was a dud, they try to hard to polish up his IG Trilogy sound, didn't work.

wouldn't say it was a dud objectively it sold like 300k, but for where he went and wanted to go. definitely a dud.

it was a dud for me musically though, I loved that album

I think the problem was ppl would go pay for the shirt/merchandise and the album would be thrown in. I could be wrong though.

But who buys album merch for albums they aren't interested in?

In an era where majority of people consume music through streaming platforms, i don't see the issue with bundling merch and wacky colored vinyls to encourage people to spend money.

I saw a press release from Universal saying the Weeknd had sold over 75 million records.....how are they calculating that?

Even if all his albums went "Diamond", which they didn't, he would only be at around 60 million.

The way they do all these stats is just all bullshyt. Not that it really matters, marketing and sales is all smoke and mirrors.
