Not going to lie I had no idea his album done that well, don't follow weeknd nowadays.

it’s probably the biggest overall album of the year..and definitely song of the year (from just an audience and success standpoint)
pretty sure that song was used as a theme song for like every big event this year lol...wrestlemania, sports playoffs , etc.

He coulda submitted it in the classical department for all I care. Nominate that brehWord is he submitted everything in the POP genre instead of R&B which led to him being snubbed.
Which is 100% Racism pure and simple. I haven’t been a Weeknd fan since he was writing for Drake in the House Of Balloon days but there’s no ignoring the impact his album had this year. The Academy told him to keep his black ass in the negro field.
Maybe this will curb his appetite for skinny ugly white women
