L had a Jay cosign plus he took Jay under his wing. L was better than anyone Jay had in his stable reasonable doubt era on down. That ass whooping Jay received from L live on the radio forced Jay to up his skills and help create the Jay we saw on reasonable doubt. Dame knew better :lolbron:

I thought that radio cypher they had came after reasonable doubt

Aint gone never get them days back bruh :sadbron:

This is what cats these days don't understand....we had multiple options for good/great music REGULARLY.....it's not like now where you have an endless supply of singles, but nothing of substance...

Soulbeat and T's Wauzi :wow:. And we had The Box and CMC was popping. Viacom came threw and purchased The Box and ended it for The Bay area rap scene to me. When local nikkas was getting their video played all day nikkas was eating. Once the Box folded then Soulbeat folded then T's Wauzi folded and that was it. shyt was beautiful back then tho. That first Keak album :ohlawd:

Bruh, we was BLESSED living out in the Bay during that time....I mean I can't even put the shyt into words. I kept up with ALL that shyt. The sheer amount of music that was coming out of the Bay n LA at the time combined with other regions, and how we was all exposed to that shyt via KMEL/The Wake Up Show, CMC, The Box, Yo, BET......Quailty muthafukkin CLASSICS from every region.....CRAFTED albums with themes, n artwork n songs that had variety, and shyt that you could relate to that was goin down everyday in your school, in your stompin grounds. Muthafukkas wonder why we take this hip hop shyt so seriously......Cats who was there or old enough to remember. Muthafukkaz witnessed n was participants in hip hop history, in real time, and watched the world change with the shyt.....STILL witnessing:whoo::patrice::sas2:

Thizz was a movement and was the biggest movement on the West Coast at the time. No other label had that many acts and was getting love in the Midwest too. Thizz was about to blow up. I'll always believe that if he made a video for this shyt every label would've came calling

Mac Dre was a Hustler. He was using the old school standard method of exposure and promotion far as acts and saturation. Thizz had been VERY active during Dre being alive, and there was no major Thizz movement, he had a fan base, yet nothin that would warrant a major push that he wasn't getting before. Dre knew where his bread and butter was.

Why didn't Dre get the Summer Jam push, national radio backing, major Industry co-sign, that most artist on the verge of getting major deals to establish branding get?

Im personally not saying Mac Dre wasn't worth the investment.

Im saying the chatter wasn't going on that a Cash Money Type 30 Million (which Baby got) major deal was in negotiations for Thizz Entertainment.

Edit: I knew youngsters that would actually fukk with Dipset harder than Mac Dre if you want to refer to local/national movements vs local/national fan base

These nikkas lyrics tho :whoo: :whoo: :whoo:

I challenge an NYC hip hop head to listen to this whole song and tell me these nikkas wasn't lyrically on Big L's level.
