EXCLUSIVE: Prime Video will not be renewing #TheWheelOfTime for a third season. The decision, which comes more than a month after the Season 2 finale was released April 17, came after lengthy deliberations, sources said. As is often the case in the current economic environment, the reasons were financial as the series is liked creatively by the streamer’s executives, we hear. Damn according to the article season 3 is 97% on Rotten tomatoes. The costs must be huge if they’re cancelling it with that high a rating.

Still, the news would be a gut punch for fans who have been praising the latest season as the series’ best yet creatively. Prime Video executives also have spoken of the show getting better creatively every season, something supported by critics as Season 3 ranks 97% on Rotten Tomatoes, up from 86% for Season 2 and 81% for Season 1.

Seems like it's too little to late on the great reviews :manny:
Rumors that it cost like 10-15M per episode.
They probably didnt want to be paying for this and Rings of Power. I think the first season of that cost like 400Ms.

That's fukking insulting if true. Robert was heavily inspired by LoR, in the beginning anyway. Robert has been called the American Tolkien.

And an American company has decided to hedge its bets on the British IP. :francis: this should've never been live action. I hope Amazon never touches Mistborn.

Even if they did, Brandon wouldnt let any bullshyt happen to it. He's rich as hell so doesnt need the money. One of his quotes is, "Hollywood doesn't know what to do with someone that doesn't need their money." Apparently he negotiates with him getting creative control. So if it ever did get made, Sanderson would make sure it's the right way. So this wouldnt be a GoT/GRRM situation where he really has no power.

I wonder how they would do the magic system in a show/movie for Mistborn. Seems like that would be the hardest part, conveying that to the audience.
