There's an aspect of this that can be placed on white media but I don't see how we can deny most of the prominent hate comes from black former players who have literally established their careers based on shytting on the product. Charles Barkley, Shaq, Perkins, Shannon (former football player but still), etc...it's nonstop hatred and weirdo shyt coming from black men who are 50+ years old.

Beyond interest in athletic competition, the biggest driver for sports media is white racism. Specifically white resentment - this player is getting paid too much, this player is uppity, this player is arrogant, this player is a thug. Rage bait over black athletes drives our media and I don't think it's shocking that the league with the highest paid black athletes gets the most hate. Let's not forget that for all the white people today claiming basketball was way better in the 90s....in the 90s guess who was claiming MJ was a diva and the game was better in the 70s/80s? WHITE PEOPLE. Their nostalgia is largely for a time when black athletes were not being paid boat loads of money, and when there were more white players to counter the blackness on the court.
