The Wire Season 2 Appreciation Thread

Arguably the most polarizing season (acclaimed by critics/lukewarm reception with the series fans)

But most of the criticism I see reads like this: "Season 2 was wack because CAC's were such a big focal point of the season "

Which I find to be hysterical considering that Season 4 is The Wire's most acclaimed season. A season where a political campaign lead by a CAC was a major plotline of the season.

Anyways, back to appreciating this underrated season. Probably the best portrayal of detective work I have ever seen. Each season of The Wire does a certain aspect better than the other, and the police work in this season was at the series' best.

I know alot of nikkas give this season shade, as did I the very 1st time I saw it out of the shock factor of such a drastic shift from season 1. But after I got over that, the quality writing in this season rivals any other great season of the Wire. Mad classic moments in this season also. McNulty was a fool with his creative ways of dumping off those dead bodies on Western Homicide. Wind shifts & tide currents

as an AVID fan of the wire, I for some reason never saw the entire 2nd season. maybe cuz I first started watching in season 4, then went and watched the other seasons after it. but, I never finished season 2.

now I got HBO GO working on my PS3, I decided to revisit this show. 4 episodes in and this is

maybe when I was younger, I couldn't handle it, but this shyt is still piff. not as good as seasons 1, 3 or 4 obviously, but probably as good or better than season 5.
