Witcher 2 is still much a PC game IMO. It didn't have a smooth transition to console so I didn't really get into it or care for it all that much. Witcher 3 however, was made with the console in mind and I got into it easily and loved it immediately.

I recently tried to play witcher 2 on 360 before i started witcher 3 but couldnt get into it at all.

Witcher 2 is great, but Witcher 3 is a lot better. You might be disappointed if you started with 3. Witcher 2 is linear and has worse combat. The story is great though. There are two different paths you can take about midway through that changes the games trajectory significantly. You'll wanna try both ways to get the whole story.
