Mickey Arrison said owning an NBA team is a hobby, not a business. These guys are all billionaires outside of basketball, so they don't depend on their teams to . Heat lose money every year. Look at Donald Sterling, he still wants his team even though he's being offered 4x its worth. It's not really about the money at that point. It's about being 1 in a fraternity of 30.
