From the outside looking in, looks to be the complete opposite of the right thing.

well if you ever as a unit feel you deserve to be paid, then you should take a stand and start a discourse to see what can be done. marginal improvements typically get found pretty quickly once a majority of an industry goes on strike. whats prevalent is where their goals are at (do they want mass wage change or just slight raises) plus their willingness to adjust to however the discussion goes

in 2017 the WBNA, all 12 teams combined, brought in $51 million of revenue. $25 million of that from ESPN broadcasting deal. $26.5 million in ticket sales.

WNBA media deal is mostly through ESPN for $25 million per year
MLS media deal is worth $4 BILLION

in 2017, Atlanta's MLS team averaged 50,000 attendees per game, the highest for ANY sport team in America.. more than any NFL team, more than the NBA team, more than MLB team...

and speaking of TV deals, why are we acting like the WNBA got their TV deal on their own merit. the ONLY reason they have a TV deal is cuz the NBA makes it a contingency that in order to broadcast their games, these networks have to take WNBA games as well as part of the package.

They deserve a bigger share but at the same time nba has made no profit from WNBA. I heard Rachel Nichols saying nba needs to advertise it more. All I see nba doing is advertising this product, not sure what more they can do. People just don’t watch/support this.

when they are in season, they are constantly advertised on NBATV, ESPN, and the other channels they are carried on. the NBA even goes out of their way to include them in the men's all star weekend and have the NBA stars record promos proclaiming how much they love the WNBA.

I do think they shouldn't be flying commercial and other shyt like that because that is ridiculous. But don't overplay your hand.

NBA teams were driven on bus and flew commercial in the 80s, and the NBA was making a come back from being close to dying during that time.
Private jets didn't come until the mid 90s for real.

- but since than havent really paid attention to the league
- i did go to one game last year. And it was relatively good game

- for the wnba to get more popular. They need to focus on what the nba is doing now. They need elite ball handlers crossing up everybody, more movement, and 3 point shooting.
- the other thing. Is they need women with actual it/star power. Outside of sue bird. I cant really name another wnba player. They need someone who can market the league.

That fukking league has operated in the red for 20+ years, and they think they are entitled to similar perks as the men. Name another business that operates like this that's not run by the government. Matter of fact, they should probably be taking buses to the games and staying in the local motel 6 in each city eating the free hotel breakfast and what not.
