Something has to give because being that tactically inflexible is :mjlol: to me. He fukked up the moment he didn't bring a recognized LB to help with the balance. Technically, the can have the deepest lying DM step back into a back 3 and allow Toby and Vert/kompany to push out wide and cover from there but I Imagine he'll go with the same team he put out today.
Martinez is inflexible unfortunately, he's the total opposite of Wilmots who was super laid back but didn't win shyt. I think in last Euros, at some point Belgium is eliminated and De Bruyne goes like "it's normal we didn't even practice tactics" :beli:
And yeah I agree, Martinez may have shot himself in the foot by not bringing a proper FB to help with Meunier but Belgium hasn't lost for around 2 years so this kinda validates him. That said, I'm not a Belgium expert so he may change his tactics who knows. Simply from what I saw from him, it's just unlikely.

Nah, if you play Carrasco you're inviting Willian to bomb down that wing all day long. I don't know how Martinez thinks it's a good idea to have both Hazard and Carrasco on the same wing. I think Chadli is a bit more tempered and won't get caught out of position as much.

Still i'd rather go pace for pace there. Chadli is just as much a liability and has even less offensive threat. Do what he did here...have Carrasco run at Fagner for 70 mins then throw on Chadli for the coup de grace.

to those of you berating japan, i watched the same game as you. they did nothing wrong. absolutely nothing wrong. with the way the game was going, if the game had gone extra time, they were going to lose anyway.

and that last play could have easily gone wrong for the belgians. japan took a chance and they failed.

and to that other dude who said senegal wouldnt have choked. lol. yeah right.

Nah, Pep has always been a ride or die dude. He'll never park the bus whether he's 5 up, or 3 down, this is not his philosophy.

You say Japan should have parked the bus because they felt inferior... but they were 2 up in the second half ! Belgium managed to tie the game but when Honda came on, Japan had chances to make it 3-2. And Honda even had a dangerous FK at the 92'. It's easy to rewrite things with hindsight but even though Japan was a bit naive, they definitely could have won this. The last 10 minutes was like 2 boxers swinging wild for the KO in the 12th round. So obviously both formation were very unbalanced because they were going for the kill (let's not forget the huge spaces behind Belgium's WBs). Japan just got Taylor-Cesar Chavez'd, this happens. :manny:

Pep has incorporated time wasting into his game plans. The United game got away because the players had to rest up for CL 4 days after. United at that point did have CL to worry about anymore.

Nah man, you don't play one of the most press resistant CM's as a LB. An in form Dembele can do the work of 2 CM's. His passing range is :scust:but strength, dribbling, defensive output and technique more than make up for that. The amount of space he'd make for De Bruyne and Hazard to createhavoc would be :wow: if he started.

Exactly, play him as a holding mid, pendulum so De Bruyne can move up and create....Witsel didn't do enough to relieve the pressure.

fellas, what's next after the world cup? what league starts? I think I'm officially hooked
assuming youre american what i would do is find some of your favorite players, figure out which teams they play for. it might help if its in epl if you dont speak another european language. i root for a german team but dont speak it and a lot of the time cant find streams in english. usually just end up turning the commentary down a bit and listening to music

How is constructive criticism, hating? Never said hes shyt, he just hasnt addressed certain aspects of his game that was evident 5 years ago, to make him an all round striker. Do you think its acceptable for a player his size, to be as passive as he is, when their is isnt much space to play into? Be 15-20 kg heavier than the defenders marking you and be unable to bully them :scust:

:umad:

If Froome Doggy Dogg wins :banderas:
I understand but does this really impact his game ? Maybe he just says fukk it and perfects his strengths so he becomes elite at what he likes/is good at and stays trash at what he hates/is bad at. I don't think Lukaku will ever be an elite 9 myself but his game fits the teams he's on so maybe that's the conclusion he drew :manny:

M O R I O H @ Tdot.
Amazing game.

The belgians seemed like giants compared to Japan. Japan got roughed up. They had the game on lock at first but they were physically weaker than the belgians. Fellani was running circles on them.

The Arsenal
Watch the premier league.

Don’t follow La Liga. You’re just better off watching highlights of R Madrid and Barcelona. There’s not much going on in that league. Just a highlight reel for the two GOATs.

Don’t follow Arsenal, they’re the Atlanta Hawks of the NBA :umad:

If you want to follow a team with a rich history, tons of silverware, best stadium, best players, best fan base, and best club in the world then follow ManUTD. :takedat:

But if you like shytty follow then follow Man shytty :ehh:
fukk outta here. hawks have never won shyt. arsenal have the third most major trophies in english history.

if you're on the coli and maybe black this may or may not matter, but arsenal has the highest percentage of black supporters in the UK and around the world. liverpool and manyoo are CAC teams. i hate tottenham, but at least they have good black representation. chelsea is a racist team even if some new black supporters started riding with them after abramovich, they're still a team supported by violent racists and will remain that way for a while. just a few years ago they committed a racist attack after a champions league game in the paris subway on a black frenchman coming home from work. they are who they are. ride with them and forgo your racial pride.

He does have defensive tiki taka but that's not bus parking and that's so he can sleep the opponent to sting him on direct play. Japan doesn't have as much talent or a coach with as much experience as City so it couldn't be expected that they'd be as good as bus parking as they are in their natural tactics. With Belgium's aerial threats, bus parking would have been suicide for them.
And the United game may have gotten away because of the CL but it was also because Sterling couldn't finish for shyt. City should have been 4-0 in the first half considering the stellar level they played in the first 45 minutes. Nobody at half time talked about the CL or fatigue. The talk at the time was how soon would Mourinho be fired after the game ! :russ:

@Cocaine Biceps I had some pics of Neymar celebrating and then I had some pics of Mexican fans crying, but none of them were personal enough. I wanted something that would crush your soul every time you saw it next to your name, and then it hit me...
