Never understood that when Barca and Real players got on in the most heated period of their rivalry

It's when Chelsea become winners and challenges to United and Liverpool/Chelsea beef stems from CL and Cup competitions.

Rio, Neville, Becks, Rooney
Terry , Lampard, Cole, Cole
Gerrard and sometimes Carragher

That's the core of your starting XI team.

Too many cliques.

I read awhile back that another big reason they weren't able to win anything is because during the late 90's and early 2000's all that anomisity from the Prem Rivalry really spread into the National team locker room and they admitted that alot of them avoided even talking to each other and really affected the Chemistry

Lampard said something to the effect of there being no sense of cohesion or team spirit between the players for the most part. He also said the bigger issue was Sven Erickson and Capello not utilising the players effectively and creating a winning mentality.

They would over-use the 4-4-2 and play either Scholes or Gerrard at LM instead of switching it up into a 4-3-3 or something more ideal for the quality players they had. Just tweak the tactics of the 2000s England teams and get a better coach and they would do much better IMO
