Yeah England are the real deal.

Save us France:sadcam:
No they're not, they have been the luckiest...

They've had the easiest route to the semis...

Only two teams they played that were above average was Belgium and Colombia...

They got whooped by Belgium and barely scraped by on PKs against a Colombian team with no James and a biased ref...

Would anyone mind explaining something about football strategy to me?

I know that a false-9 is when you have your forward at the top drop back into a deeper position instead of playing up front, and that usually, the wingers then come in from the side and attack. I know that Belgium did this yesterday with De Bruyne as the false-9.

My question is why would you do that? What would be the aim of putting your forwards on the wing and asking them to cut inward? Is it a formation meant to get your best players on the pitch if you have two forwards, but you don't want to play with two up front? Why would you have someone who is usually an attacking midfielder like De Bruyne is play up top, but then cut back into what is normally his position anyway? I'm way behind most people at understanding the game, so I still don't get all of the strategies behind choosing a formation. Thanks in advance.

But France is racist as fukk

It’s a place where the FN control many local authorities and are a legit political force in national elections

I’d rather not compare the levels of racism between these European countries as they’re all racist to some degree but I will say that, outside of London and the other big English cities, England is very racist. I just want France to win as the English are cocky and France have more black players.

Leave them to their delusion, they’ll end up playing France in the final and get demolished 5-1.

A false 9 is when you play a player who isnt naturally a striker in a striker position. Spain used to do it and Germany too. De Bruyne yesterday played in a number 10 position which is usually just behind the main striker (Lukaku), creative players are usually played here to thread passes through the defence to the wingers or main striker.

Teams only really resort to playing a false 9 if they dont have at least one good centre forward. But for arguments sake, Argentina did it against France, playing Messi there which was a bit dumb tactically as they have Aguero and Higuain who would have been more effective.
