Good reminder that football is a team sport if some forgot. Can't win shyt without a proper collective. The stats Messi and Ronaldo are putting for their clubs are because both are greatness incarnate but also because both play for great teams. Once NT time comes, it's a different story.

Louder for those at the back :ohhh:

Bbbbut Ronaldo is carrying Portugal :mjlol: stupid

I'm quite happy for Cavani :mjcry:

Really like dude as a player : a proper dog on the field, presses and hustles from start to finish, goes helping his defenders, sacrifices himself for the team by playing wide so other 9s can shine, is humble and is simply just a dude you can really count on if he plays with you. The perfect teammate :mjcry:
Yes he's quite clumsy at times and has missed some incredible chances but all the upsides vastly overrides that dark side of him.

That's why soccer is some bullshyt. How can anyone say anyone in soccer is as good as LeBron James? LeBron plays with a mediocre squad, carries them to the Finals. Ronaldo gets shut down by Uruguay and Messi's team struggles with a young ass Nigeria squad. This is why, Basketball stars>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Soccer stars.
You’re comparing a boring sport that has constant stoppage to football where is 45 minutes countinously.

Plus NT is different than club. In the NT they’re stuck with w/e teammates they have. fukk you want Portugal signing Hazard, Lukaku, and Mbappe:heh:

In the NBA, you got a salary cap. You can't stack teams up with the world's best players and wonder why Real or Barca always wins the Champions League. GS has two of the best 5 and everyone is crying about them. Just imaging if at SG, they had Harden, at SF Leonard, PF Durant and C A. Davis. The world cup is the closest to the NBA for International football.

I fukking despise Uruguay for what they did to Ghana in 2010, but I have to admit, they are a class side. They defend so well and they're so menacing on the counter, and they're not chokers. I'd expect them to do over France based on the strength of this performance, as long as Cavani is fully fit.

Cavani's first goal has been the best of the tournament for me, I love passing moves like that. Just perfect. The other great goal was Musa's first goal against Iceland, which again was something similar, a rapid counter-attack that he started by winning the ball and then sprinting the length of the field to score that wonderful volley

International football is like that, coming into the tournament Muller had scored more than Messi/Ronaldo combined at the WC in 2 tournaments because he plays for a better team. NT cannot buy a LB if they are lacking they have to work with what they got. Portugal struggled to have a decent 9 in like years with the exception of Pauletta/Nuno Gomes in the early 2000s. Argentina stopped producing good central midfielders after Veron, Cambiasso,Riquelme. The lack of Ronaldo or Messi in the tournament isn't a big loss IMO, they haven't had exciting teams to watch for some time, the Germans have carried that load since 06
