As someone who has traveled what is your opinion on the world view of African Americans?

I deleted the photo of me being in Bosnia when I posted that. But my perspective isnt just secluded to that of a Black man wearing a military uniform. Sinai, Budapest and Germany I was allowed free range to roam.....I'm a big brawny Black man who can only speak English. Thats exotic to foreigners so my treatment was like I was special. Especially in the commercial areas because all they saw was money. And the red light district and whorehouses were hospital. I never once had hostility but I also attribute that to the way I carry myself.

One of the most important things I learned about white folks after being around them for the first time in my life during my college days is that they can't distinguish between black people. They can't tell who is a thug and who ain't. They can't even tell whose light skin and whose dark skin. To them we're a giant monolith. That's why racism is so dangerous. White people have created this boogeyman image of black men in their minds and any black man can fall victim to their delusion. It don't matter how we look, dress, or act.

Luckily I haven't had anything that violent happen to me but I've constantly fallen victim to white folks delusions when it comes to us. I'm very non-threatening in my appearance like James Blake. Light skin, average build, slightly above average height. I don't dress in a way for anyone to assume I'm a thug. But yet I have always been profiled by white people. White women are always grabbing their purses, crossing the street, or looking over their shoulder if I'm walking behind them. I've been followed around department stores like Brooks Brothers when I'm shopping for suits cause apparently as a black man I'm not supposed to be able to buy a $1,000 suit.

I could keep going on. But the idea that you gotta look like a "thug" for white folks to stereotype us is completely FALSE. White people view us ALL the same.

I agree 100%. That’s why colorism in our community is silly. We’re all seen as n*****s to every other group. No matter how light or dark we are. Obama was biracial and still got all that abuse.

Another thing I've noticed recently is that if white folks are gonna racially abuse someone black, they usually will pick out the least threatening among us.

For example, I've never been called a "******" by a white person to my face. But my mother has been called a "****** bytch" by white men more than once when she out. Also if you notice all the police brutality videos you'll notice they typically like to attack overweight black men (Eric Garner, Alton Sterling, Mike Brown, etc.) or very young black boys (i.e. Tamir Rice). The demographic of black men you would assume are the most threatening (i.e. the brolic thug looking brotha in his early 20s) doesn't seem to get attacked quite as frequently. This lets me know that the cac police attacking innocent black men are not doing it cause they scared for their lives. They're doing it for the same reason white men will call a grown woman like my mom a "****** bytch" but wouldn't do the same to me. They attack brothas like Alton Sterling, Eric Garner, and Tamir Rice cause they have no fear of them.

I'm no such thing,I was taken out context by a white supremacist and haters ran with it. You actually are a proud military man,least you didn't deny what I said,just deflected while proving my point.

Far as this thread is concerned everything you said in the OP is fading.Notice the fear is fading and you see cacs more emboldened then ever the more assimilated and europeanized we have become. I would say we have lost some cool factor too,take a look at new nikkas and its hard to tell whos copying who as these nikkas like like Euro fakkits and wanna be rockstars. White people only admire and fear black people who are anti white. As the cancer of the world,you have cacs who want to be healed by assimilating back into the blackness from which they came. Then you have cacs who are aggressive cancers who want the cancer to thrive:respect:. Also not every white person who seems like a ally genuinely wants to be healed,and in fact may be a cancer disguising itself as a protein,this is the case in most instances.
